Schlensker FHE at Slate River Ranch

I'll add some pictures when I get a chance but my mom wanted me to post this video of the family home evening she organized with the kids while we were at the ranch.  It was a great weekend and the perfect place for our family reunion.

It's a GIRL!

After 3 boys it seems strange to announce that we are finally going to have that elusive baby girl.  We went in for the ultrasound on Wednesday and were both pretty much dumbfounded as the ultrasound tech told us she was 120% it was a girl.  The boys are all excited.  We're both excited and nervous for this unexplored territory.  A lady at work lifted my spirits when she said, "She sure is going to have some protection from boys with 3 older brothers at home." Then she sent me crashing back down when she said, "Of course, they'll also have their older friends with them who will probably be checking her out."  Oh, the things we're in for. :-)

Lake Gaston, NC

Some friends of ours invited us and another family down to Lake Gaston for the weekend.  We had so much fun!  The kids loved being outside so much and playing in the water.  Mason and Logan had a blast being pulled behind the boat and Mason even attempted knee boarding.  Brady preferred to ride inside the boat.  It was such a fun and relaxing weekend.  Thanks Beth and Clint!  :-)

Logan's 5th Birthday

It's hard to believe that Logan is 5 years old already.  Where does the time go?  He wanted a pool party this year, which was great!  It was so nice not having to entertain everyone at our house.  All the kids had a lot of fun, including Scott.  I must admit that even I went down the water slide...maternity suit and all.  I'm sure it was a sight.

Washington D.C. Day Trip

A couple weekends ago, we decided to take the boys up to D.C. to see the temple and to do some sightseeing.  Our first stop was the temple, the boys liked seeing the visitors' center and enjoyed eating lunch in the parking lot (after we got kicked off the benches by the fountains).  It had been a while since Scott and I had gone to the temple, so it was really nice to get up there again.  After we left the temple, we did a little shopping for our 3rd floor and then took the metro to the National Museum of Natural History.  The kids thought it was great, but Scott and I were a little tired at that point.  Not having a stroller for Brady didn't help too much either.  Oh, well...live and learn I guess.  All-in-all it was a fun day, and hopefully we created some memories for the kids.
