Globetrotters!

I had to write about taking Mason and Logan to the Globetrotters on Thursday night.  Justin bought Glade 10 tickets for his birthday.  He asked me awhile back if I wanted to bring Mason and Logan and I of course said, "yes."  Well, Justin ended up not being able to go (Caeden had a basketball game) so Suzanne, her sister, and Nelson took Benton and Abby.  Mark brought his two oldest and Glade also came.  Huh, must have been 12 tickets.  Anyway, I knew Justin would get good seats but I had no idea he had floor seats.  Our seats were in the same place as the Globetrotters but facing them on the other side of the court.  It was awesome.  The kids had a blast and our row had quite a bit of interraction with the players.  Special K (the main Globetrotter who's miked up and talking the entire time) came over and took Mason's cotton candy right out of his hand and went to mid-court and started eating it with another Globetrotter.  When he brought it back half-eaten Mason looked at me and said, "Um, I don't really want any more of this."  I scrambled for my camera but all I got was an arm grabbing for Mason's cotton candy.  Later on Benton and Abby got to go out with some other kids and dance to YMCA with the players.  Suzanne also got into the act when they took a baby out of her arms (fake, obviously) and shot silly string out of it at the Washington Generals' coach.  It was all so fun.  The only downer was Logan got a stomach ache the last half hour or so.  I asked him, "How much dinner did you eat?"  He looked at me all guilty and said, "Not much."  That'll make you pay when you down a bunch of cotton candy (I wish Special K would have taken his!).  He never puked so that was good.

Girls are so much fun!!!

After having three boys, I reserve the right to put the biggest bows and flowers on my baby girl that I can find.  It's funny....I never thought I was a bow person.  I think I actually said once that I wouldn't put bows on my little girl.  It's funny how things change.  I found a couple of these big flowers online and I think they're so cute!  It's like playing dress up every day.  :-)

Cute Cousins

Now that Claire is here, Abby has lost her status as "the only girl," but she has been so great!  She loves holding her and asking me questions.  Sometimes she'll just sit by me while I'm nursing and we'll have the cutest conversations.  I'm so glad Claire has such a wonderful cousin to look up to. Thanks for sharing the spotlight, Abby.

Claire's First Horse Ride

Well, Claire finally had her first horse ride with Grandpa.  It's a tradition in our family that Grandpa gets to take each of the kids on their very first ride.  He's been itching to get Claire on a horse since her first trip out to the ranch when she was only a week old.  Up until now, the weather has been a little too chilly, but this weekend was perfect.  Grandpa was SO excited!  It was so cute to see him on a horse with our baby girl.  I love these memories!  Thanks, Dad.

Fun at the Ranch

We went to the ranch this weekend to celebrate Grandpa Knight's birthday.  The weather was beautiful (80 degrees and sunny).  Less than a week before, we had 10 inches of snow on the ground.  Crazy!  The kids had fun riding horses, playing outside, and going for razor rides.  It was nice to get away and relax.

More Snow!

I didn't have any pictures of Brady from yesterday (he wasn't too thrilled to be out in the cold), but he did much better today.  He loved the snowman his brothers built yesterday and he had a great time on the sled too!

Let It Snow!

For the first time in YEARS, we got more than a dusting of snow.  We actually got 10 inches!  The kids were out of school yesterday and today, and they're having tons of fun playing in the snow. They built an awesome snowman with Scott and used our deck stairs as a sledding hill.  (I even decided to get in on the action.)  Scott actually snowboarded down the stairs, and if I can figure out how to do it, I'll post some video.  I love lazy snow days - especially when Scott is home to play outside with the boys and shovel the driveway.  Thanks for all your help, Papa D!

Nice Boots

Mason and Brady got a kick out of trying on my boots the other day.  We had a pretty good laugh, too.  I just hope this doesn't become a habit.  :-)

Wintergreen

Scott's parents are visiting, so we decided to go up to Wintergreen and take advantage of free babysitting.  (Thanks, Grandma Weez and Papa D!)  Scott wanted to let Brady try snowboarding for the first time, but he only lasted about 30 seconds on the slopes.  We'll probably wait until next year to try that again.  Mason and Logan had fun despite the bad conditions...fog, wind, and rain.  It wasn't the best time to be up there, but we still had a good time.

Brady's 3rd Birthday

It's hard to believe that Brady is already three.  He had a fun birthday.  It started with smiley face waffles and ended with Lightning McQueen cupcakes....what more could a little kid want?  He had a great time opening his presents and insisted that we all sing, "Happy birthday to you.  You live in a zoo.  You look like a monkey, and you smell like one too!"  Funny kid.
